Justin Kain
CEO and Founder
Justin Kain is the Managing Partner of HPP Equity LLC and oversees all aspects of financing, investor relations, business development and management across a diversified SFR (single family rental) and multi-family student housing portfolio near Notre Dame in South Bend Indiana and Northwest Arkansas.
Justin began his career as a 5th grade band teacher in Plainfield, Illinois. He and his wife Kristina co-founded Over the Rainbow Enterprises, Inc. in 2006 after attending a real estate education curriculum currently known as myRenatus.com. They raised their first private capital for deals in 2008.
From 2009-2011, Justin created Smart Guys and Smart Management to acquire SFR portfolio’s in the South Bend, Indiana area. In 2011, Smart Management merged operations into HomeWorks Management.
In 2012, Justin led the creation of Arkad Properties LLC, a SFR holding company in Illinois and raised $3M in equity to acquire and consolidate 120 properties. During 2014-2018, Justin and his partners completed over 25 major SFR renovation projects in Chicago and the suburbs with a total sales volume of over $9,000,000. Justin also owned and operated a Villa in Belize on the AirBnB platform from 2018-2021.
In 2019, Justin led the creation of HPP Equity and moved to South Bend full time in 2020. He is excited to be able to guide the growth of HPP Equity and spend time with Kristina and their four amazing children.
